WTOHT Partners with CMHA - Toronto to Deliver Free Mental Health Workshops for West Toronto Communities

TORONTO, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 – The West Toronto Ontario Health Team (WTOHT) is excited to announce its partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association Toronto Branch (CMHA – Toronto) to provide free mental health workshops to West Toronto communities.

The WTOHT has recognized a significant demand for mental health support within the organization’s catchment area. The workshops are designed to teach effective stress management and mindfulness techniques to help individuals build resilience and manage their mental health effectively. The first series of workshops focus on reducing stress and overcoming burnout.

“Our community partners identified mental health support as a key priority for West Toronto. We’re thrilled to partner with CMHA Toronto to deliver these much-needed workshops facilitated by team of community educators that collectively speak ten languages and have experience in health and social services,” Said Kashtin Fitzsimons, Director of the West Toronto Ontario Health Team.

The workshops are structured in four-part series and are offered throughout the year both online and in-person and locations across West Toronto. Each week, participants will receive practical take-home learnings. Following completion of all four workshops in a series, participants will receive a certificate from the WTOHT and CMHA – Toronto.

“We're thrilled to partner with the West Toronto Ontario Health Team to bring these workshops to the city’s west end. Improving the mental health of all has always been a priority for our organization, and we know that the pandemic has made it even more crucial to provide support and resources to those in need," said Michael Anhorn, Chief Executive Officer of CMHA Toronto.

The WTOHT will continue to expand its workshop offerings to new audiences and will include new topics related to mental health. Individuals can learn more and stay informed of new offerings by visiting www.wtoht.ca.
