West Toronto Ontario Health Team opens winter-long 'Cold & COVID-19' clinic in Toronto's West End

TORONTO, Thursday, December 15, 2022 – Today, The West Toronto Ontario Health Team (WTOHT) has launched an ongoing ‘cold and COVID-19’ clinic in response to a significant rise in the number of respiratory illness cases in the province such as COVID-19, influenza, and syncytial virus (RSV). The clinic will operate from The Four Villages Community Health Centre, a partner organization of the WTOHT located at 3446 Dundas St W, Toronto.

As part of a commitment to provide care and services to all members of Toronto’s West end, individuals of all ages will be able to see a doctor, get assessed for COVID-19 or influenza/influenza-like illnesses and get access to COVID-19 rapid antigen testing and/or treatments regardless of OHIP status or a health card. Individuals are asked to bring photo identification and wear a mask.

The clinic will run seven days a week providing after hours and weekend support to individuals experiencing moderate or worsening symptoms. Walk-in visits are accepted. Same-day appointments can be made for those who would like to reserve a spot by calling (437)-992-1260.

“The Cold and COVID-19 Clinic is a model of the partnership we have formed in West Toronto with our member organizations and primary care providers to meet the needs of our community,” said Kashtin Fitzsimons, the Director of the West Toronto Ontario Health Team. “We know after-hours and weekend access to primary care is essential in responding to the wave of respiratory illnesses we are seeing. Working with the West Toronto Primary Care Network and West Toronto Community Health Services, we have been able to put together a new service to respond to this need.”
