West Toronto Ontario Health Team launches online engagement platform to foster community involvement

TORONTO, Friday, September 23, 2022 – As part of a commitment to work together with patients, caregivers, community members and healthcare providers, the West Toronto Ontario Health Team (WTOHT) has launched EngageWTOHT, a new digital platform that will enable the West Toronto community to get involved in and provide input on health and social care services in their area.

EngageWTOHT enables community members who register on the platform to closely follow initiatives and provide feedback with dedicated two-way communication tools. Registrants will be able to stay informed through regular newsletters, and participate in surveys, polls and discussions about their health and social care needs. As part of a growing effort to address the needs of the community, EngageWTOHT will create a seamless way for people to share their ideas and communicate directly with the WTOHT.

The platform can also be accessed by visiting wtoht.ca. The WTOHT will maintain its current website as a hub of information and resources.

EngageWTOHT offers one stop for community members looking for active involvement opportunities where they can:

“We are excited to hear more about the diverse range of experiences of community members in West Toronto as it will truly make our health and social care system better,” said Carole Ann Alloway, Co-chair of the Partners for Better Care Council.

“The goal of the West Toronto Ontario Health Team is to create a connected health and social care system that improves the experience and outcomes for those in our community,” said Dipti Purbhoo, Co-chair for the Partners for Better Care Council. “To achieve this, it’s critical that we actively engage community members to help us understand what matters most to them, what needs to change and how it should change.”
